Located in Simplon Park, the “green lung of Milan”, the Triennale is one of the most popular and important museums and exhibition centres in the city. This summer it hosts the temporary event Vitrea - Vetro italiano contemporaneo d’autore, an exhibition curated by Jean Blanchaert in collaboration with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte. The exhibition displays a selection of over 60 original works in glass created by artists, artisans and designers from Italy and abroad, who have a profound and long-standing relationship with Italian glass.
The works presented illustrate diverse techniques, poetics, and functions and are an expression of the multiple forms that glass can assume, of the great imagination of the artists and of the extraordinary mastery of the artisans. The works on display – expressive pieces that reflect a dynamic balance between creativity and craftsmanship – show the wide variety of contemporary creativity in the handling of the material, from sculpture to lighting, from figurative works to stained glass. The exhibition emphasises the unique artistic visions and manual expertise in need of preserving and safeguarding for the future.More information
