A totally new selection of priceless jewellery for the third biennial at Vicenza’s Jewellery Museum (Museo del Gioiello). More than 300 unique and exclusive items, many of which belong to private collections, recount the rich history of jewellery through a mixture of contemporaneity, suggestions from the past and projections into the future. Open to the public in 2014, the museum is the only one in Italy and one of the few in the world to be exclusively dedicated to jewellery.
The museum is on two floors: the exhibition rooms are on the upper floor and the thematic bookshop and the temporary exhibitions area, Spazio Off, are downstairs. The subdivision of the path into rooms is a curatorial choice and doesn’t follow a chronological order. The museum hosts about 8,000 visitors annually.
