Gunilla Maria Åkesson has been a ceramic artist for more than 25 years. In this lecture she talks about her journey in the world of ceramics, the creative process and her inspiration. In all these years, she has followed her intuition to find her own voice and expression through clay. Exploring her own state of mind and emotions through meditation, her close connection to nature and discipline (which she exercises almost every day doing the same kind of movements in clay to create her works) have enabled her to open a space for her to connect with her emotions and explore their borders and content. Participants to the lecture can witness the answers of this in her work, which is characterised by nature, simplicity and beauty. Gunilla Maria Åkesson also gives lectures and talks in other locations. In this case, travel and accommodation are extra. The course is on request.
