How would you define what you do?
I search for the right questions and find the answers that will lead life forward by trying to understand the part we play in it. Jewellery teaches us how; you need to look at it in detail and, at the same time, see it from above or from a distance in order to understand what you have done and what you need to do.
What does it mean when an object is well made?
It means being able to put all of your skills, knowledge and passion in one place and time, at the maximum level. There are different levels of 'well made' at 13, 25 or 55 years old, and all ages have the potential to reach perfection, in relation to oneself.

How does Romania affect your jewellery making?
My story is linked to the historical and social course of Romania. I started to learn jewellery making during communism, in secret. I continued to practise the craft after the fall of that regime, indirectly contributing to what is happening today in Romanian jewellery design.
Why did you choose to start a jewellery school?
I considered it the right way to pass on knowledge and skills related to jewellery making and design. A school is much more open than an apprenticeship and it can be adapted, transformed, reshaped. It also offers us the possibility to communicate with different people from all creative fields.
